GCEC SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
Although our school operates as a private institution with excellent teachers, small student-teacher ratio, an abundance of educational materials, a beautiful learning environment, fun life experiences such as field trips to the zoo and city museum, the cost to parents is $2 per month. With such a small amount some may wonder why we charge families at all rather than offering a free education? Through our years of experience working in Nicaragua, we knew that families would show a higher level of commitment and place greater importance on their child's education if they paid a "family commitment" tuition portion. Our goal is to walk alongside and partner with families as they seek a better future for their children. From the onset, we committed to a "hand up" rather than a "hand out" approach, working to preserve family dignity and responsibility over their own children as they make important choices to invest in their future.
Although parents pay a "family commitment" tuition portion of $2 a month, the real cost to our ministry is much greater. Up to this point, we have been able to meet the significant gap between what parents pay and our actual expenses through the generosity of faithful supporters and short-term missions. However, as our school grows by 25 students every year, and our staff needs and expenses also increase, our operating budget has grown exponentially. As our team contemplated ways to meet our budget shortfall, we knew that we needed to consider programs that could sustain our school, long-term. This led to the birth of our sponsorship program with the 2020 school year, which includes two ways to sponsor our school: 1) student monthly tuition and 2) classroom expenses for curriculum materials, desks, chairs, boards, etc. We look forward to partnering with you!
